HEALTHY PEOPLE DONT UNDERSTAND

Back pain can be very debilitating. The problem is all those ‘healthy’ ‘normal’ people just don't understand what you are making all the fuss about. You look OK don't you? You can walk around can't you? So what’s the problem?

Back pain is not something that others can see so it's hard for them to understand. In some ways it's good that your ‘problem’ is not where everyone can stare at it, but in others it's hard. Since you look OK those around you get impatient and annoyed.

  • What do you mean you can't go on the fairground rides?
  • What do you mean you don't like my new chairs, they hurt your back.
  • Well why can't you curl up on the sofa and watch a movie with me?
  • What do you mean you can’t go rafting?
  • Well why can't you go on this bouncing jeep ride?
  • What do you mean the chairs in the restaurant don't look comfortable so you don't want to go in?
  • Why can't you pick up little Johnny, he's only two.

  • Plus thousands of other small but significant things that used to make up your life but now are just something you wish for.

You are stuck between a rock and a hard place. You probably don't want to whine and complain all the time about your back hurting. No one likes a whiner, and it's certainly not going to make you popular.

On the other hand you hurt, and you can't do a lot of the things that all these ‘healthy’ folks want to do.
It's easy to be sympathetic with someone when you can see their injuries. A broken leg, bruises, fever something, anything that is visible. That gets instant attention and concern from loved ones and acquaintances. They can see it so they understand that things are different if you have a cast on your leg.

But back pain is invisible. Most of the time you look just fine to them, you just complain a lot more. You , say you hurt, but there are no visual clues to remind them. They have never experienced what you are suffering so it’s hard for them to constantly remember you are suffering.

For most people back pain is ongoing. It's not just 6 weeks while the bone heals and the cast is off, it's there all the time, day in day out. It not only wears you down, but it wears on the healthy too. It's something that they can't see, but they have to constantly remember that you are suffering.

Some people don't find this too hard, others have a difficult time with it. They often believe it's all a sham, that there is nothing really wrong with you. They get impatient and annoyed.
Now you not only have to deal with the pain, you have to deal with people who don't want to deal with your problem.
When this is a close family member this is even more difficult. You not only have to suffer but you have to do it silently or you have to deal with their impatience and possibly anger as well. This can cause more stress for you which can make your back pain worse.
Such difficulties can cause a spiral which makes the back pain worse, which makes it harder still to find ways to relieve a ever increase problem with pain.

What can you do? "Take Control of Your Back" gives you the tools you need to find the solution you need to control your back pain, and improve you life. Using the book as a guide you can take back your life and stop worrying about dealing with those ‘healthy’ people who don't understand you. Order your copy today and start on the road to recovery.
